Alisa and Lysandra Fraser are best known in Australia as award-winning interior designers and television personalities from The Block, who transformed their passion for design into a successful business empire with the launch of al.ive body.
But many Australians would be unaware of their personal commitment to protecting the world’s endangered orangutans and the rainforests they call home.
When Alisa and Lysandra founded al.ive body, they made a deliberate choice that would define their brand’s values: to be 100% palm oil free. This wasn’t a marketing decision, it was a moral one. They had learned that palm oil production is the leading cause of orangutan habitat destruction, with vast stretches of ancient rainforests cleared daily to make way for palm plantations, pushing these critically endangered great apes and many other species to the brink of extinction.
“We couldn’t, in good conscience, build a business that contributed to the destruction of orangutan habitats,” said Alisa. “Every product we create proves that you don’t need palm oil to make beautiful, effective formulations.”

In September 2026, Alisa will travel to Borneo with OFIA President, Kobe Steele OAM, to witness firsthand the conservation work of Orangutan Foundation International (OFI). She will visit the OFI orphan orangutan Care Centre, meet the dedicated OFI staff protecting these incredible creatures, and see the reality of what’s at stake.
Through their personal role as ambassadors, Alisa and Lysandra ensure their business reflects their values.
