Trudi Jaye is Co-Founder and Managing Director of Retreatment Botanics, an award-winning Australian skincare brand, co-created with Olivia Newton-John at the acclaimed Gaia Retreat & Spa in the Byron Bay hinterland.

Trudi is honoured to serve as an Ambassador for Orangutan Foundation International Australia. She is committed to using her platform to raise awareness, support conservation efforts and inspire more conscious choices that protect orangutans and the rainforests they depend on.

With extensive experience in skincare formulation, spa therapy and wellness, Trudi developed a comprehensive understanding of how ingredients impact both skin health and the planet. This knowledge combined with her deep respect for animals led to a defining commitment from day one: to create spa quality skincare that does not contribute to the destruction of orangutan habitat through palm oil production.

In an industry that still relies heavily on palm oil derivatives, the path wasn’t easy. Trudi and her team worked side by side with world-class scientists, pushing past every dead end until they reached a breakthrough the industry said was impossible: luxurious, high-performance skincare that meets the highest standards while remaining entirely palm oil free.

“Modern beauty is built on palm oil – it’s used in nearly everything from cleansers and creams to makeup, and even natural products, yet almost no one talks about it. When we developed our range, we knew we had a chance to shine a light on this hidden issue, and show what was possible by setting a new standard that didn’t exist before.”

Retreatment Botanics went on to become the world’s first spa-quality skincare range to achieve Palm Oil Free Certification. Today, the range is recognised globally for its innovation and results, having won more than 100 international awards for performance, formulation excellence and ethical leadership.
