Over the last six months sweet little Carmen has made remarkable progress as she grows. Showing a recently developed adventuresome spirit, Carmen is now no longer afraid to go into the nursery forest on her own. She does not stray too far from the infant playground, but Carmen likes to climb nearby trees on her own and gaze down at her friends playing below. The trees surrounding the infant playground may not be very tall but Carmen loves to climb to the highest point she can. Here she will sit, her orange hair glowing in the rays of the sun, while she forages for the tasty leaves around her. Carmen loves playing with leaves and will often tear off a small branch and then retreat to the playground with it. Here she will climb high into the rafters of the playground and play with the branch and leaves, shaking and folding and hitting objects with the branch. This keeps her entertained for a long time.
Carmen’s best friend is Andrena, and the two will often play together in the playground. They don’t play too roughly with each other and you can often see one following the other around. Carmen never seems to rest when she is in the infant playground for her daily playtime. If she is not playing with best friend Andrena, then she is climbing and swinging on the ropes in the playground or climbing one of the nearby trees. She may be tiny, but Carmen is strong and full of energy. When she swings along on the ropes in the playground, she swings with energy and you had better watch out if she swings towards you!
Rambutan is currently in season and Carmen loves snacking on this tropical fruit. She will pick up a piece of the bright red fruit and using her mouth, rip the outer red shell off to reveal the succulent white fruit in the centre. Carmen loves all the other fruit that is given to her by her caregivers, but as rambutan is only in season for a few precious months each year, Carmen is making the most of this time eating all the rambutan she can! We can’t wait to watch Carmen continue to grow and develop as she gets older. In time, her adventurous spirit will lead her to explore as much as she can of the forest around her!
